With the advancement of technology and the incorporation of social media into the learning process, this study investigates how to use Instagram social media effectively to improve English vocabulary comprehension for students with hearing impairment using the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) development model procedure. The research targets are seven hearing impairment students from SLB Negeri 02 Jakarta. Through the development of social media learning English vocabulary through sign language, students can learn English vocabulary by learning alphabets, names, numbers, and day names more easily. The results of this study show that learning videos developed through social media, particularly on Instagram, are beneficial for hearing impairment students who grasp foreign language learning materials, especially sign language using American Sign Language (ASL). The reviewers also gave the learning videos a feasibility evaluation, and they were pronounced appropriate for learning. As for the results of student tests, it is shown that the names and days show that the results of student test answers are all correct. However, in the number section, only three errors were found, and then in the alphabetical section, there were five errors. Developing technology-based learning media with microlearning methods, primarily through Instagram, can help hearing impairments students learn English. This opens up opportunities for developing more exciting and relevant learning content to facilitate English learning for students with special needs.
Pieter Pieter Tara Mustikaning Palupi Haura Nasywa Mufidah Hifdziyatun Nisa Ahmad Yazid Noval ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2024-06-27 2024-06-27 20 1 1 18 10.34005/lingua.v20i1.3438 THE POWER OF CHATBOTS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING: A NEW AGE OF LEARNING https://uia.e-journal.id/Lingua/article/view/3492
Chatbots are a new type of artificial intelligence. This paradigm shift has transformed the global economic landscape into a digitally driven advanced economy, marked by technological innovations that permeate various socio-economic sectors, including Indonesia's digital economy. Despite the potential, the digital economy in Indonesia is still in need of further development to realize its full growth potential. Consequently, the active involvement of the younger generation becomes crucial in propelling the advancement of the digital economy. The younger generation, being a vital component in driving the development of the digital economy, possesses a high degree of creativity and an innate ability to foster innovation. However, their role alone is insufficient, as they require guidance and support, particularly from the government, to nurture their talents effectively. Considering this, Tribunnews offers a unique perspective on this matter. To delve deeper into the underlying meaning of the discourse, the Historical Discourse Approach (DHA) is employed, applying Wodak's (2001) discursive strategies, namely nomination, predication, argumentation, discourse representation (perspective), as well as intensification and mitigation. This study aims to shed light on the author's ideology and how it is revealed through the discourse. The findings underscore the critical stance taken by the authors towards the importance of fostering the digital economy through the active participation of the younger generation, as well as evaluating government policies aimed at advancing the digital economy in Indonesia. By understanding these ideological perspectives, stakeholders can glean valuable insights to foster an environment conducive to the growth and development of the digital economy while effectively harnessing the potential of the younger generation.
Agis Andriani Mohammad Hanif Amrullah ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2024-06-27 2024-06-27 20 1 69 81 10.34005/lingua.v20i1.3745 ANALYSIS THE COLLEGE STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION ON AARONS.ENGLISH INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT IN SPEAKING https://uia.e-journal.id/Lingua/article/view/3713
: Some students said they like learning English but they have difficulty in expressing their ability due to lack of ability to speak and the learning techniques used are still difficult to apply to this phenomenon.
