Abstract
Sleep is one of the basic human needs which is included in physiological needs. Sleep quality is a good or bad condition of a person's sleep habits. Sleep deprivation experienced by adolescents is influenced by several factors, one of which is light. The light used during sleep that is too bright can penetrate the eyelids and stimulate the brain to stay active and cause a person to have difficulty sleeping because the body and brain cannot rest fully. The research purposes was to determine the relationship between the use of lights during sleep and the quality of adolescent sleep at SMK Kesdam Jaya Jakarta. Research Method use correlation descriptive a population of 84 respondents the sample was taken by purposive sampling technique using the Slovin formula to be 69 respondents. The analysis used univariate and bivariate using the Chi-Square test α = 5%. The results of the Chi-Square test, obtained p value 0.015 (p <0.05), then H0 is rejected with a Cmax value of 0.432. conclusion there is a relationship between the use of lights during sleep and the quality of adolescent sleep. Suggestions are expected that adolescents can find out whether the use of lights in the position of the lights is off during sleep to provide good quality sleep.
